The plants are composed of 1-5 mm long calcified stems with 1-3 mm diameter caps. The cap has 15-20 sporangial rays that are arranged radially, club-shaped and slightly compressed, rounded at the tip, and laterally coherent to each other. This species is found on accumulated coralline pebbles in lower intertidal to subtidal zones of reef flats along shorelines with moderate wave activity.
