The discarded seaweeds

The discarded seaweeds photo
Seaweeds removed from shrimp pond.
Several species of Cladophoraceae grow prosperously throughout the year in canals and cultivation ponds in brackish water regions. Shrimp farmers discard the seaweeds with contempt. This is due to the belief that if these seaweeds grow abundantly in shrimp ponds, they will obstruct shrimp growth, reduce dissolved oxygen levels during the night, and furthermore hinder the shrimp’s activities.
